The Confusion of the Gospel

I think everyone who studies the Gospel and the crucifixion of Jesus wonders
how murdering an innocent man could save sinners from being punished for
their sins. It just doesn't make sense.

Church pastors will tell you that it is a "mystery" and that we should just accept it
because it pleases God. The Gospel is so simple that "even a child can understand it", so
why can't the leaders of the church? Why would it please God for an innocent man to
suffer and the wicked to go free? God loves justice and that certainly isn't just. Even
a child knows something is wrong here.

The problem is that there has been a confusion of the Gospel message of
Jesus. The Gospel of Jesus is His teaching of how mankind can be saved from their sins.
It appears in the New Testament but is outlined in the laws and sacrificial practices
of the "Day of Atonement" in Leviticus Chapter 16.

Two goats were taken from all the people of Israel. They cast lots to see which one would
be left alone in the wilderness to die and which one would die as an offering to God.
(This casting of lots shows that it is God who is choosing here.)

The one that was picked to be left alone in the wilderness was given all of the sins of the
people by the High Priest laying hands on its head and confessing all of the sins of God's
people. Then it was led out into the wilderness to wander and suffer whatever fate God
gave it (probably to be eaten by wild dogs and/or starve).

The one that was picked to be the offering to God was sacrificed as a sin offering. Its
fat was burned on the altar, its blood sprinkled on and in front of the mercy seat within
the veil of the tabernacle, and its body was burned outside the camp.

This law of Moses was carried out every year in the seventh month on the 10th day of
the month by Jews around the world. It is the Day of Atonement. It is a holy day, a
sabbath, and no work is done. The people "afflict their souls" .

We see the sins of the people were removed by the High Priest putting them onto the
goat led out
into the wilderness. The sins were not removed by offering the sacrificial goat.
In a similar way we cannot be saved by the death of Jesus Christ alone. If we could
then all men would be saved and we know that is not the case. Only the people of God
(those who have confessed their sins, made sacrifice and want to obey God's will like
the people of Israel on the Day of Atonement) are cleansed by the Atonement! This is
also witnessed by the fact that all of the holy men in the Bible lived with great fear of
God's judgment day when those who do not love God will be cast out into outer darkness
(like the goat left in the wilderness).

Jesus brought us the way to salvation. This way was foretold in the Old Testament Day of
Atonement and fulfilled in the New Testament. Many other things of the Old Testament are
fulfilled in the New Testament. The Old Testament is very useful for understanding the rest
of the Bible.

The High Priest transfers the sins from the people to the goat and then enters into the Veil
to make atonement by sprinkling the blood of sacrifice on the mercy seat. This is
all symbolic for what Jesus did on the cross. On the cross He died and entered into the Veil
to offer blood on the mercy seat of God in Heaven. This is His job as High Priest: He
transfers the sins of those who suffer through obedience to the Gospel to those who cause
their suffering through disobedience to the Gospel. The blood Jesus offers is His own and
that of His people because they are one.

Jesus ¨bears the sins of the world¨ because He lives in all of His people and endures their
suffering with them, not alone:

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have
done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
(Matthew 25:40)

The sins of God´s people are placed on someone other than Jesus Christ but Jesus
Christ made the removal of our sins possible by showing us the way to life, sacrificing
Himself, entering into Heaven, performing the Atonement for God's people as High Priest
and sending the Holy Spirit to comfort the suffering of the saints.

Who will bear the sins of God's people into the wilderness? All who reject the teachings
of Jesus Christ! It is just and right to be so! As Jesus said, the wicked are condemned
already! They pick up new sins every day and refuse to bear the cross of Christ to be
healed! Jesus said the man who would save his life will loose it! Those who reject His
teachings of non-violence and self-sacrifice will loose their lives because their sins will
never be cleansed!

When the people of God obey Jesus by suffering persecution and enduring mistreatment
our sins
are transferred to the head of the person who harms us by the hands of
Jesus Christ -
God´s High Priest in Heaven!

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the
Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (Hebrews 4:14)

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now
received the atonement. (Romans 5:11)

This is why Christians are never to seek revenge - it would bring our dirty sins back again.
This is also why it is better to suffer loss than to resist evil.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be
pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise
blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
(1 Peter 3:8-9)

Wicked people full of sins will suffer a fate just like the goat left alone in the wilderness.
They are offered to the devil and wander in the wilderness with him. The righteous, who
have had their sins removed by following the teachings of Jesus (suffering mistreatment,
non-violence, praying for your enemies, etc), will leave this world to be with God, giving
our fleshly life as an offering to Him.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
(Proverbs 16:25)

The way of the world will not allow non-violence and self-sacrifice. If you follow
the way of the world you will be defiled with sins you pick up over your life.
There is only one way to get rid of them: faith in the teachings of Jesus - his Gospel!

The confusion of the Gospel has come because men long ago hardened their hearts
to any talk of non-violence or self-sacrifice. The kings and religious leaders who
became "Christians" in ancient history forced the true Gospel to be replaced with one
they found easier to swallow. In doing so they hid the path to Heaven from all except
those who love Jesus and obey His commandments out of love for Him.

The true Gospel of Jesus was replaced with the idea of pagan human sacrifice.
The evil idea being that God will forgive the sins of the wicked if the innocent
die in their place. This is like throwing a virgin girl into a volcano to appease the
"rain-god". But God says the wicked will be judged by what they have done. No
human sacrifice - even Jesus - can save them. Only the cleansing of their sins by
obedience to the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus can save them.

This explains why the saints always rejoiced in their sufferings and called it
"sanctification"! They became more like Jesus every time they suffered at the hands of
wicked men. They also felt within their hearts the fulfilled promise of a heavenly
future - because they had already been rewarded in part:

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

All men die. Jesus died. His death is gain for the people of God because He has entered
into Heaven to become a High Priest of God who can perform the Atonement, but His
death alone does not save His people. They have to follow His commandments of
non-violence and self-sacrifice to be saved.

Only the faithful sheep of His flock who follow Him will find the path to life. As Jesus
said, the man who hears His commandments and does not do them will be like a man
who built his house on sand. When the flood and the rain comes, then his house will fall.
But the man who hears His commandments and does them - he will be like a man who
built his house on the rock - his house will stand.

So I encourage everyone to go out and spread the true Gospel. Expose and shame those
people spreading the false "Gospel of the World" instead of the True Gospel of Jesus.
All that happens in the world happens according to the will of God, so this
confusion happened for the purpose of God also. The true Gospel would have
been rejected by men and would not have spread throughout the world as it has to this
day. The Bible has been the best selling book in the world for hundreds of years, but
only because men did not understand the message of the Gospel. Now that the
Word of God is reaching the whole world through Bibles, televisions, radios, the Internet
and missionaries the words of Jesus will be put in front of them to accept or reject and
those words will judge them:

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth
him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (John 12:48)

Jesus said to proclaim His Gospel to the whole world:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Supporting scripture:

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in
yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. (Luke 11:52)

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world
hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of
Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son
shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
(Proverbs 21:18)

Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received
gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
(Psalms 68:18)
