Seek Meekness

Definition of meekness: characterized by patience and long-suffering.

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had
married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, Hath the LORD indeed
spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it. (Now the
man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
(Numbers 12:1-3)

shall live for ever. (Psalms 22:26)

(Psalms 149:4)

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see
out of obscurity, and out of darkness. The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and
the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to
nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
(Isaiah 29:18-20)

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek

(Zephaniah 2:3)

base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:  (2 Corinthians 10:1)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  (Galatians 5:22-23)

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred

(1 Timothy 6:10-11)

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them

Moses and Jesus were both meek. The remnant of the people of Israel who were saved after
the nation was punished were meek. The meek will inherit the earth and heaven also.

Why do Christian churches bless the mighty and rebuke the meek? Because they are
corrupt. They seek after the glory from men instead of the glory from God. They lack faith in
the words of God.

God chose the meek man Abraham to be the father of His chosen people and also Jacob:

And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father,
and he went down into Egypt,
and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation,
great, mighty, and populous:
And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:
And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on
our affliction, and our labour,
and our oppression:
And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm,
and with great terribleness, and
with signs, and with wonders:
And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth
with milk and honey. (Deuteronomy 26:6-9)

Likewise God chose the meek man Jesus to be the firstborn of His chosen people. God loves
the meek and opposes the proud. That is why all who want to find God must seek meekness.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. (Isaiah 57:15)
